It is finished.....

Well, I love koigu! My FIRST SOCK is done! Now I just need to figure out how to post a picture of it! I actually finished it last Thursday at class. I love that kitchener stitch!!! I will say - I got impatient and started my toe decrease about 1 inch too soon - so the sock is a tad tight. Which I think means that DD will be wearing these socks, which thrills her to no end!!

Okay - I really should finish up the 2 projects I am doing for work so that I can enjoy the weekend!

A heel flap here, a heel flap there!

So last night was our 2nd sock class! Love the ladies in the class! We have so much fun chatting and getting to know each other. Well, the day before the class, I decided that the work I had done on 3s was too stretchey and BIG - so I ripped it out! And started over. GREAT IDEA!!!!! Good thing to do the day before class - when you have carpal tunnel and can only knit for short blocks of time!!!!!!!!

So, while everyone else did their heel flaps, I continued my ribbing!!!! But, I promised the teacher that I would have the heel flap done by next week so I can turn the heel with the rest of the class!!

And in FUN news (for the MILLIONS reading this highly interesting blog) one of my FAVORITE bloggers over at http://sockpr0n.blogspot.com/ is having a COOL CONTEST with AWESOME KNITTING PRIZES!! Take a look!

Socks!!

So I have been reading all about how all these crafty people just whip out these socks - pairs and pairs if them!! Went to my LYS, picked up a pattern, okay 2. Picked up some dpns, okay 2 sets. And some yarn - some fingering and some DK. TRIED BOTH and just couldn't get it right! I know how to knit in the round - I have two Lucy Bags going right now - one still on dpns and one on a circular. UGH!

So, my knitting friend and I signed up for a sock knitting class together and VOILA! I am knitting a sock! I gave my friend the yarn I had tried to use - because I hate it now! It was taunting me! I splurged on some Koigu - YUMMM - and it is knitting up nicely!!! I think I may rip it out and start over on 2's, though - right now I am using 3's and worry that it will be too large - stretched out. Hmmmm....

Off to knit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
